The group has members from the MIS doctoral program, Master's program and the MIS undergraduate program. A variety of data management tools have been developed by group members on different platforms including UNIX, Linux, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. The hardware used by the group includes Dell PowerEdge and Pentium Workstations. Many of the tools have been developed using Java, C++, Oracle, J2EE, and Borland JBuilder. Group members work on a number of interdisciplinary projects with researchers in other departments and schools at the University such as BIO5, ISPE, Atmospheric Science and Physics , Hydrology and Water Resources , Optical Sciences , Pharmacology and Toxicology , Renewable Natural Resources , and, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology , and Agriculture . Ongoing and past projects by this group have been funded in part by organizations such as: NASA , NSF , NIST , IBM , ORD(CIA), NIH, SAP, Raytheon Missile Systems and the Arizona Sonora Commission.
