About Us
Directed by McClelland Professor Dr. Sudha Ram, the Advanced Database Research Group is a part of the Department of Management Information Systems, and investigates important aspects of data management in business, science, and manufacturing.
Our research focuses on enterprise data management. We examine important issues including semantic interoperability, heterogeneous database integration, distributed database design, semantic modeling in domains including bioinformatics, and business Rules modeling for Supply Chain Management. Our work also examines modeling of temporal and spatial databases.
The group has members from the MIS doctoral program, Master's program and the MIS undergraduate program. A variety of data management tools have been developed by group members.
Group members work on a number of interdisciplinary projects with researchers in other departments and schools at the University such as BIO5, ISPE, Atmospheric Science and Physics, Hydrology and Water Resources, Optical Sciences, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Renewable Natural Resources, and, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Agriculture.
